The Esoteric Order of Beelzebub

Animistic Materialism is a model for attempting to comprehend the phenomenon known as the Black Flame, drawing on patterns and algorithms collected from the experience of life as an organic being on planet Earth.

To understand it's relationship to Setian philosophy generally, it is first necessary to understand that Setian philosophy has grown and continues to evolve from two basic premises:

1. Mankind possesses a unique faculty of self-consciousness and abstraction that sets him apart  from other known inhabitants of planet Earth.
2. By exercising and working directly with this unique faculty he may experience a process of dynamic personal evolution called Xeper.

The question then arises - where did this unique faculty come from? Is it a product of natural evolution? Was the result of some sort of intervention as nearly all the worlds religions and myth-cycles suggest? If it is the product of natural evolution, then what other unique aspect of homo-sapiens encouraged him to evolve in this direction?

Whatever the source, this capacity for self-consciousness has a special connection with the substance known as the Black Flame and can be approached as a material phenomenon. Like Dr. Wilhelm Reich’s Orgone, it flows throughout the universe, originating from an ineffable source and descending throughout various cosmic octaves until it reaches us here on Earth. In waves of alternating contraction and expansion, it flows through all organic life forms – charging, animating, and connecting all things. It binds us with all other things, and serves as our link to higher levels of existence and the source of our creation. This perspective has also been called "Animistic Materialism".

While all organic life partakes in this cosmic dance of energy exchange, for some reason it has had a unique effect on man, endowing him with a special capacity for self-reflection and presenting him with the opportunity to overcome the common evolutionary cycle. This is due to a specific genetic capacity that was installed in man by an intelligence agency originating on a higher level. This agency may simply and easily be conceived as those beings of another race have been known to exist since the most ancient of times, and have been called by various names throughout the Aeons and documented by nearly every known terrestrial civilization: Angels, Daimons, Titans, Gods, Goddesses, Nephilim, Extra-Terrestrials, and so on.

The motivation behind this genetic tinkering with man’s receptivity would seem to have been foremost selfish. To ascend to higher levels of existence, it is necessary not only to make a conscious connection with the beings residing there, but also to open the ascendant door for the being dwelling at a lower cosmic level. Initiation may be viewed as a sort of ladder in this sense – one may move up the ladder only by simultaneously providing assistance to those below. This principle of mutual reciprocity explains the motivation of our benefactors, illustrates the virtuousness of selfishness, and lights the way for our own evolutionary destiny.

It is very important to understand that such cosmic beings need not be considered absolute in their existence or inherently benevolent in their motives, and that other cosmic races with less admirable motivations could easily exist as well. Every being that exists in the universe must eat, and all beings also serve as food for something else. This law is absolute: There is no free lunch. Therefore, a sly man will be mindful not only of what he eats, but also of what sort of consumers he attracts to himself. The aim of Setian initiation is not to return home or achieve unity with others - but to journey forth establishing sovereignty in new realms.

This basic model of the Black Flame and Higher Cosmoses existed for many tens of thousands of years of peaceful and enlightened human civilization. However with the appearance of Monotheism in Egypt circa 4,000 BCE institutionalized oppression, violence, and an aggressive movement to suppress all knowledge of the Black Flame and all initiatory endeavors began. As stated, not all cosmic races are benevolent, and not all share the same opinion regarding man's proper function in the universe.

Therefore, the primary aim of the EOB is to provide proper and safe conditions for work; conditions in which individuals may begin rekindling the Black Flame within the self and reactivate the cosmic mission of individual existence and ascendancy.
